Ear X-Tacy, located on Bardstown Road, was a legendary Louisville record store that opened in 1985. Founded by John Timmons, it quickly became a hub for music lovers, offering a wide array of records, CDs, and memorabilia. More than just a store, Ear X-Tacy was a cultural epicenter, hosting live performances by local and national artists. Its quirky atmosphere and deep community roots made it a beloved landmark. Sadly, due to the rise of digital music and economic challenges, Ear X-Tacy closed its doors in 2011. Its absence is still felt by those who cherished its eclectic spirit and contributions to Louisville's music scene.
