Wild and Woolly Video, located on Bardstown Road, was an iconic Louisville institution for movie lovers. Opened in 1997, it offered a vast collection of hard-to-find films, indie releases, cult classics, and foreign cinema that couldn’t be found in mainstream rental stores. More than just a video store, Wild and Woolly became a community hub for film buffs, fostering a love for obscure and eclectic movies. Its quirky, offbeat personality made it a beloved part of the Bardstown Road culture. Sadly, after nearly two decades, Wild and Woolly closed in 2015, leaving a void in Louisville’s independent film scene.
